Solving the Overdose Crisis Through Harm Reduction is a full day symposium (9am-4pm) for mental and public health professionals.

We look forward to your attending our Ending the Overdose Crisis Through Harm Reduction symposium. The event will be held at The College of New Jersey in the Brower Student Center at 9:00am, registration begins at 8:00am.

<p>T﻿his full day symposium will offer dynamic presentations that begin with a presentation from the New Jersey Department of Public Health Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Sejal Hathi . This day will introduce you to the history of US drug policy, how existing policy drives our opioid epidemic, the state of drug policy as it exists in New Jersey today, and ultimately how decriminalization is our best solution to ending the overdose crisis. You will hear from a panel of the leaders from mental health professional associations across New Jersey , including NASW, NJCA, NAPA and NJMFT and their perspectives on the harms of our drug policy. We are also fortunate to have Nuno Capaz from the Dissuasion Commission in Portugal, and Tera Hurst from Oregon Health , Justice and Recovery to discuss their personal experiences with decriminalization. Registration begins at 8:00am and the event runs from 9:00-4:00. NBCC CEUs, lunch and free t-shirts will be provided to all who attend.</p>
