About this event

Join Prospect Park Alliance and Outdoor Afro, an organization that celebrates and inspires Black connections and leadership in nature for a community birding tour. This will be an opportunity for the Black community to explore Prospect Park, observe a variety of bird species, and enjoy a shared appreciation for nature and wildlife.

The walk on Saturday, May 25 will begin at the Lincoln Road Entrance, travel towards the Prospect Park Boathouse to reach the Lullwater Bridge, and then move towards the Peninsula. From the Peninsula, we will proceed through Wellhouse Drive to return to the Lincoln Road entrance.

The walk on Saturday, July 27 will begin at the Flatbush Avenue Entrance, walk to the Vale, then through Nellie's Lawn, continue towards Boulder Bridge, follow Center Drive to the East Drive, and end at Empire and Ocean Avenue.

The event will be entirely outdoors. Please dress accordingly for the weather. Please note that there may be steps, slight inclines, and grass and dirt paths with exposed roots. For specific accommodations, please reach out to community@prospectpark.org.

Prospect Park Alliance would like to express our gratitude to our partner, Central and South East Brooklyn Community Development Corporation, an organization focused on advancing the holistic health of the residents in Central and South East Brooklyn.
