About this event

Welcome to Out Families Annual Camping Trip!

Date: July 26-28, 2024

Location: High Cliff State Park

Get ready for a weekend of fun, laughter, and outdoor adventures with your family! Our annual camping trip is perfect for bonding with other LGBTQ+ families in a beautiful natural setting. Whether you're a seasoned camper or new to the great outdoors, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

High Cliff State Park in Wisconsin offers many outdoor activities amidst scenic beauty. Visitors can explore over 16 miles of hiking trails, biking, or picnicking in designated areas. The park boasts stunning views of Lake Winnebago and the Niagara Escarpment. Fishing, boating, and swimming opportunities abound, while birdwatchers can spot various species. With campgrounds for overnight stays, High Cliff State Park provides a perfect retreat for nature enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers alike.

Important Information

  • The registration fee is per family, not per person.
  • To camp, hike, or swim at any Wisconsin state park, you must purchase day passes ($8/day) or a yearly pass ($28 for state residents). Park pass fees are not included in the event registration fee. You can read more about park passes here.
  • Our group sites are for tent camping only. If you have an RV or camper, you can book your site separately and join us at the Out Families group sites for the fun. If you book your trip separately, please join our event Facebook page (https://fb.me/e/22WjjqNHM) and let us know you're coming!
  • Out Families will host several activities over the weekend (S'mores, guided hikes, beach day, movie night, kids crafts, and parents' cocktail/mocktail afternoon).
  • High Cliff State Park offers several accessible opportunities. Please visit the Accessible Recreation site for more information.
  • Like last year, our group site only offers vault toilets. However, the family campground has a flush toilet/shower building. The group and family campgrounds are connected by the Red Bird Trail (walking) or camp road (driving).
  • You will need to bring your own camping supplies and food. Out Families will provide all supplies related to hosted group activities. We have 80 spots available, so someone will have whatever you might need.
  • Group camping is a great way to try camping in general; there will be folks with considerable camping experience to help you feel comfortable!

Out Families has reserved group sites 201, 202, 203, and 208. Families will choose their preferred site at check-in. Each site can hold 20, and selection is first-come, first-served.
