About this event

Dr. Paula Traktman, a Hirshmann Endowed Professor and the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) , will speak at Our World. Virology is the primary focus of Dr. Troutman’s research. Her lab also investigates cellular causes of breast cancer and premature aging. Her talk will focus on how the techniques that led to the development of the Covid vaccines are also being used to develop preventions of and treatments for many other human ailments. Dr. Traktmann received an AB from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from MIT. Her roles as both researcher and educator make her quite the expert in her field.
