We would like to invite you to the official launch of Our Visual World, on Friday 4th July, 10.30- 4:00, at the TEMPLE OF PEACE, King Edward VII Ave, Cardiff CF10 3AP

Our Visual World is a network for Deaf creatives around Wales who support and promote each other's work, acting as a bridge between the Deaf community and the art world. Our launch is a once in a lifetime opportunity to connect with the Deaf community, and to ask all the questions however big or seemingly small that you have ever wanted too.

Over the last two years our work has been led by Deaf Creatives, who have explored:

  • How to support, commission and exhibit Deaf Creatives
  • How to host a BSL tour
  • How to connect with Deaf Families
  • How to co-create new projects with Deaf Creatives

During the day we will hear from Deaf creatives and the organisations they have worked with on exhibitions, workshops and BSL Tours. There will be lots of opportunity to ask questions. A full agenda will follow on registration. There will be regular breaks throughout the day, with quiet space available throughout. Refreshments and lunch included with 'Live Event' tickets. BSL Interpretations and Live Captions will be provided throughout.

This event will also be filmed and available as a live stream, so if you are not able to make it in person please select an 'online streaming' ticket.

More information to be released soon, please check back for full agenda and speakers list.

About Our Visual World

The Project has been developed through collaboration between artists, arts organisations and experts, including Jonny Cotsen, Jane Simpson, Heather Williams, Tom Goddard, and partners including Glynn Vivian Gallery, Disability Arts Cymru, Llanelli Deaf Centre and Artes Mundi. Since its inception, the core-network of Deaf artists have continued to connect with Deaf creatives around Wales through workshops.

Within our first year we were able to train 7 Wales based Deaf creatives to be BSL Tour guides as part of Artes Mundi 10. Throughout 2024 the network continued to develop connections and deliver BSL tours UK wide.

In 2025 the project will focus on connecting Deaf artists with galleries to deliver mainstream, open access workshops where the creatives are promoted as artists, not Deaf artists.

Hoffem eich gwahodd i lansiad swyddogol Ein Byd Gweledol, ddydd Gwener 4 Gorffennaf, 10.30- 4:00, yn Y Deml Heddwch, Rhodfa'r Brenin Edward VII, Caerdydd CF10 3AP

Mae Ein Byd Gweledol yn rwydwaith ar gyfer pobl greadigol Byddar ledled Cymru sy'n cefnogi ac yn hyrwyddo gwaith ei gilydd, gan weithredu fel pont rhwng y gymuned Byddar a'r byd celf. Mae ein lansiad yn gyfle unwaith mewn oes i gysylltu â'r gymuned fyddar, ac i ofyn yr holl gwestiynau pa mor fawr neu fach bynnag rydych chi erioed wedi ei eisiau hefyd.

Dros y ddwy flynedd ddiwethaf mae ein gwaith wedi cael ei arwain gan Deaf Creatives, sydd wedi archwilio:

  • Sut i gefnogi, comisiynu ac arddangos Pobl Greadigol Byddar
  • Sut i gynnal taith BSL
  • Sut i gysylltu â Theuluoedd Byddar
  • Sut i gyd-greu prosiectau newydd gyda Deaf Creatives

Yn ystod y dydd byddwn yn clywed gan bobl greadigol Byddar a'r sefydliadau maen nhw wedi gweithio gyda nhw ar arddangosfeydd, gweithdai a Theithiau BSL. Bydd llawer o gyfle i ofyn cwestiynau. Bydd agenda lawn yn dilyn wrth gofrestru. Bydd seibiannau rheolaidd trwy gydol y dydd, gyda lle tawel ar gael drwy'r amser.

Lluniaeth a chinio wedi'u cynnwys gyda thocynnau 'Digwyddiad Byw'. Bydd Dehongliadau BSL a chapsiynau byw yn cael eu darparu drwy'r amser.

Bydd y digwyddiad hwn hefyd yn cael ei ffilmio ac ar gael fel llif byw, felly os nad ydych chi'n gallu ei wneud yn bersonol, dewiswch docyn 'ffrydio ar-lein'.

Ynglŷn â'n Byd Gweledol

Mae'r Prosiect wedi'i ddatblygu drwy gydweithio rhwng artistiaid, sefydliadau celfyddydol ac arbenigwyr, gan gynnwys Jonny Cotsen, Jane Simpson, Heather Williams, Tom Goddard, a phartneriaid gan gynnwys Oriel Glynn Vivian, Celfyddydau Anabledd Cymru, Canolfan Byddar Llanelli ac Artes Mundi. Ers ei sefydlu, mae'r rhwydwaith craidd o artistiaid Byddar wedi parhau i gysylltu â phobl greadigol Byddar ledled Cymru drwy weithdai.

O fewn ein blwyddyn gyntaf roeddem yn gallu hyfforddi 7 o bobl greadigol Byddar o Gymru i fod yn dywyswyr BSL Tour fel rhan o Artes Mundi 10. Trwy gydol 2024 parhaodd y rhwydwaith i ddatblygu cysylltiadau a darparu teithiau BSL ledled y DU.

Yn 2025 bydd y prosiect yn canolbwyntio ar gysylltu artistiaid Byddar ag orielau i gyflwyno gweithdai mynediad agored prif ffrwd lle mae'r bobl greadigol yn cael eu hyrwyddo fel artistiaid, nid artistiaid byddar.

*Mae Ein Byd Gweledol yn brosiect Connect and Flourish a ariennir gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru
