The Office of Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Services is turning 50! We’re inviting California’s small businesses, disabled veteran business owners, state departments and agencies, and small business community organizations to join us in celebrating 50 years of commitment to helping small, diverse, and disabled veteran businesses thrive.<h3>Why Attend</h3><ul><li>Connect with state advocates to learn about contracting opportunities</li><li>Enhance your certification profile to improve visibility to state agencies</li><li>Receive guidance on certifying your business</li><li>Gain valuable resources and insights into the state procurement</li><li>Network with partners to access resources that can help you start, grow, and scale your business</li></ul><h3>About This Event</h3>Whether you're a small business or disabled veteran business, a state department advocate, or an organization that helps small businesses succeed, there is an opportunity for you.Tabling Opportunities:Plan to join us to showcase your State Department's or Non Profit Organization's small business program services. Network and share resources with small businesses and disabled veteran-owners to help them secure state contracting.Advocates:Participate in the "Meet Your Advocate" sessions. A great opportunity to offer personalized guidance and information on your department's contracting. Remember to bring your laptop or tablet and business documents (see FAQs) for the practical workshops.Select Organization/Department Resource Table Option to reserve an exhibiting table. <h3>Frequently Asked Questions</h3>Can you provide details on parking availability and any parking fees for attendees at the event?Parking available in the Ziggurat Garage at $1 every 20 minutes or $15 maximum/day.I want to participate in the State Certification Workshop. Welcome Remarks and Panel "Meet Our Team and Discover What We Do"

Our training experts from the State Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Contracting and Procurement training team will provide key tips to building a strong elevator pitch targeted to state advocates. 

Market Your Business - Developing a 60 second elevator pitch for Advocates

Sit down for a 15-minute one-on-one meeting with a state advocate. A great opportunity to try out your new 60-second elevator pitch to market your business and began to build a rapport with who buys what you sell! 

Meet Your State Advocates

A 90-minute step-by-step presentation on the certification application. Come prepared! Bring your laptop or tablet along with your business structure and tax documents. Leave with your state small business or disabled veteran business enterprise certification. (see FAQs below for the documents you must bring for this workshop)

State Certification Workshop

Three 30-minutes sessions on improving your visibility with state agencies. This Cal eProcure clinic will show you how build a robust profile to help you find contracting opportunities that fit your business. Ideally have your laptop or tablet to follow along and instantly update your profile.

Position Your Business to Find Contracting Opportunities

Meet and chat with small business community partners and state departments about contracting opportunities and resources to start, grow and scale your business.
