We have got some great talks lined up - from technical deep-dives to real-world implementation hurdles and practical insights. There will also be small breaks with some light snacks and drinks where you can meet and connect with fellow optimization nerds.

Attendance is free, but spots are limited, so make sure to sign up. Hope to see you there! 🤩

About OptiMeet

OptiMeet was started by Vegard Pedersen and Kjartan Klyve as a forum for optimization and operations research in business. We aim to host meetups twice a year, and try to invite a wide range of businesses and research institutes with different topics every time. Keynote speakers

Visma Resolve - Stian Vale
Visma Resolve provides AI products helping Visma companies automate planning-to-payroll. But getting advanced solvers to deliver real value in practice takes more than a powerful algorithm. Stian Vale will discuss the practical challenges faced when implementing these solvers in complex customer settings. This talk digs into the challenge of configuring solvers – translating real-world needs into a problem instance. We'll explore strategies to bridge the gap between user thinking and solver logic, ensuring both the configuration process and the resulting outputs are usable and interpretable.

Aidn - Asgeir Berland and Martin Simensen
Aidn is a modern healthcare platform designed to meet the challenges of an aging population and a shortage of healthcare workers. Together with users, they create tools that simplify clinical workflows, improve collaboration, and give patients and healthcare professionals the support they need.

In this presentation, Asgeir Berland and Martin Simensen will showcase how they built the route planning solver for home care services, and the challenges they faced along the way. Asgeir has a background in AI and has previously worked with Oda's route planner. Martin has a background in optimization from both SINTEF and Oda.

NTNU & St. Olavs Hospital - Thomas Bovim
St. Olavs hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Norway with about 11 000 employees. Thomas Bovim works as a consultant in the Service Innovation Centre (Tjenesteinnovasjonssenteret på St. Olav) in the hospital as part of the Healthcare logistics team. In his talk, Thomas will present a few projects related to nurse planning and show how optimization models can be used to enhance the planning.
