About this event
AAFTA: A Legacy of Creativity & Social Commentary
Join us for a powerful exhibition presented by African Americans For The Arts (AAFTA), a collective of Atlanta-based artists dedicated to amplifying cultural narratives and social commentary through their work. Founded in 1998, AAFTA serves as a dynamic force in the African American and Diasporic African arts community, fostering collaboration and creative expression across disciplines.
This exhibition showcases a compelling collection of visual art that speaks to the resilience, identity, and lived experiences of its creators. More than a reflection of history, these works engage with contemporary events, offering bold perspectives on social justice, culture, and the ever-evolving artistic landscape.
About AAFTA:
AAFTA is a nonprofit organization supporting artists across various disciplines, including visual arts, music, dance, film, poetry, and spoken word. With a membership of 30+ local artists who meet regularly at Hammonds House Museum, AAFTA has a strong history of exhibitions at renowned venues such as Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, Art Station Gallery, and Hudgens Center for the Arts.
This event is free to attend, but a suggested donation of $20 would be greatly appreciated to help support our mission of expanding access to arts education and creative expression opportunities, especially to the underserved.
Beer, Wine, and Soft Drinks will be available for purchase.
Exhibition on view until May 29th __________________________________________
