Warp & Weft, a boutique rug design studio based in New York City, is proud to exhibit Crossroads at Hacin. Founded by Michael Mandapati 25 years ago, Warp & Weft believes that a well-designed rug creates the foundation of any space; harmonizing color, texture, and form to craft a cohesive narrative.
In celebration of the rich heritage and artistry of hand-made rugs, Crossroads showcases a curated selection of traditional and contemporary rugs, representing a variety of cultures and featuring an array of styles, materials, and techniques. From hand-knotted to flat-woven, and spanning from antique to modern designs, this visual feast of exceptional rugs creates a captivating dialogue, weaving the evolving story of rug-making from the past to the present.
While Warp & Weft offers an extensive collection of antique and decorative rugs, the studio also specializes in creating custom rugs for residential, commercial, and boutique hospitality projects. Alongside the fullsize rugs featured in Crossroads, a selection of samples will be on display to showcase the endless possibilities of custom design.
An exhibition tour and conversation with Michael Mandapati, Jennifer Clapp [Hacin Principle] and Matthew Woodward [Hacin Senior Associate + Interiors Studio Manager] will take place at 6:00 PM during the reception.
Crossroads at Hacin marks Warp & Weft’s debut to the SoWa Art + Design district and the Boston community.
Light bites and drinks will be provided.
A Warp & Weft 8' x 10' rug will be raffled off during the event. Raffle entries will cost $100, and all proceeds will be donated to Boston local social service agency, Project Place.
Crossroads will be open to the public from Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9 from 10am – 4pm daily. Appointments for private consultations also can be scheduled during this time by calling 212-546-0944 x107.
