OpenDev: Hardware Automation

About this event
OpenDev events help influence open source software and communities. During these events, attendees collaborate to discuss problem areas, answer questions and create valuable resources that push budding topic areas forward, like Edge Computing in 2017 and CI/CD in 2018.
This new virtual event series will include discussion oriented sessions around Large-scale Usage of Open Infrastructure Software, Hardware Automation, and Containers in Production to explore challenges, share common architectures, and collaborate around potential solutions.
This OpenDev event series will consist of three separate events, each covering a different topic. If you're interested in discussing Hardware Automation, you're in the right place! We'll be discussing things like:
- End-to-end hardware provisioning lifecycle for bare metal / cradle to grave for hypervisors
- Networking
- Consuming bare metal infrastructure to provision cloud based workloads

Ideal outcomes of the event might look like:
- New members joining the SIG related to the topic to continue the discussions
- Continuing to meet, eventually producing a whitepaper on the topic (see the OpenDev Edge example!)
- Incorporating discussion outcomes into upstream software development
