Open Practice Physical Abilities Test

Open Practice Physical Abilities Test

Overview

Join us to begin your path to the badge by participating in our open practice Physical Abilities Test and Recruit Testing & Application lab.

The practice Physical Abilities Test (PAT) provides prospective Police Recruit applicants with the opportunity to attempt the physical agility test prior to their official testing date. This practice session is strongly recommended for all prospective applicants, regardless of current fitness level or confidence with the test, as it allows participants to become familiar with the testing environment and expectations.

The practice PAT will be conducted at the Sacramento Police Academy located at 2409 Dean St., McClellan Park, CA 95652. Participants will meet at the track. The session will be held rain or shine.

Multiple practice sessions will be offered throughout the day at 8:00 am, 10:00 am, and 1:00 pm. Please sign up for the session to plan on attending. Participants are encouraged to arrive at least 15 mins. early to allow time to complete the required waivers, which will be provided on-site before participating.

Attendees should bring water and wear appropriate physical training attire, including athletic clothing and running shoes suitable for physical activity.

Please see the Youtube video linked below for details of the obstacles within the PAT.

We will also be hosting open Recruit Testing & Application Lab sessions for prospective applicants to complete our online Civil Service Exam and apply for the Police Recruit position. This will be held at our Police Headquarters (5770 Freeport Blvd) computer lab at 10:00 am, 12:30 pm, and 3:00 pm.
