Open House

The Instituto Cervantes is a non-profit organization founded by the Government of Spain in 1991. Its mission is to promote Spanish language teaching as well as that of Spain’s co-official languages, in addition to fostering knowledge of the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries throughout the world.

Practice your Spanish with our friendly staff and teachers. Take a tour of our beautiful center. Visit the largest Spanish library in Chicago and check out the latest books, DVDs and CDs. Learn about our upcoming cultural events, workshops, and classes. Make a friend at our Cervantes Café space for music and mingling. Take advantage of early registration discounts. Become a member or renew your membership during the Open House and receive a free Cervantes T-Shirt. Free and open to the public, but reservations are required.PROGRAM5:00 – 6:00 pm – Kids trial class. 5:30 – 7:30 pm – Music, cheese and wine. 5:30 – 7:30 pm – Library tour and membership information. Library 5:30 – 6:00 pm – Beginning Spanish trial class for adults. 6:00 – 6:30 pm – Spanish conversation trial class (all levels except complete beginners). 5:00 – 5:30 pm – Spanish guitar trial class for kids and adults. 5:30 – 6:00 pm – Spanish theatre trial class for kids and adults.6:00 – 6:30 pm – Spanish learn to sign trial class for kids and adults. 6:30 – 7:00 pm – DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language), SIELE (Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española), teaching and learning resources
