Open Drawing+

Open Drawing+

Kemper Museum of Contemporary ArtKansas City, MO
Thursday, Apr 2 from 6 pm to 8 pm
Overview

Open Drawing+ transforms the museum into a space for sound, exploration, and making.

Experience an evening of activities inspired by exhibitions, The Atrium Project: 10 years, 10 stories and Edra Soto: the place of dwelling.

Explore the museum with sketchbook in hand, respond to exhibitions through creative prompts, and experience live music in the Atrium organized by Manor Records. Throughout the evening, enjoy artist demonstrations and an additional hands-on activity inspired by current exhibitions.

Join us quarterly (April, June, August, November) for this lively night of creative community.

This program is free and open to all. Registration encouraged. Check-in upon arrival is appreciated but not required.

What to Expect:

  • Sketch and explore as you draw throughout the galleries.
  • Join a docent for an engaging mini-tour that brings current exhibitions to life.
  • Immerse yourself in a live set by musician Alber, organized by Manor Records.
  • Create and collect at a charm bar pop-up with Paulina Otero. For the evening, Otero has created three custom charms inspired by works on view -- arrive early to receive a free custom charm while supplies last.
  • Experiment with photo weaving in the Engagement Space and leave with your own reimagined image.
