OontzKids: Music Production Camp- Southlake

Come join us for a fun-filled week at The Westin Dallas Southlake for our Level 1 DJ Camp!

Learn how to analyze and organize your favorite music, prepare your performance, and rock your next party with seamless mixes!

Each student will be outfitted with their own workstation that includes:

Laptop Computer with Professional DJ Software (Pioneer Rekordbox DJ)
Pioneer DDJ-400 DJ Controller & Headphones
Thousands of Ready-to-mix songs spanning all popular genres

What does a DJ do and why is it important?
Understanding the layout of modern, digital DJ Equipment
Analyzing the different parts of a song- tempo, key, verse, hook, drop, breakdown, etc...

Frequently asked questions

Do I need musical experience to attend the camp?

No. If you love music, experimenting, and being creative, you'll love this class. Musical experience is of course an advantage, but since all students will work at their own pace, it is not necessary in order to keep up with the class.

What Ages are Appropriate for the camp?

We ask that students be at least 8 years old.

Do I need to bring anything to the camp?

No. Just you! If you are coming from our morning Music Production Camp, you may want to pack a lunch. We'll have 1 hour in between classes.

What is your refund policy?

We can honor cancelations up until 1 week before the start of camp.

Can I come see what my child is working on in class?

We will invite all parents into the classroom on the last day to see the projects that the students have created.

OontzKids DJ Academy was founded by Dan Quinn- a full-time, professional DJ and musician who lives in the Dallas, TX area with his wife and 4 children. He regularly receives rave reviews for both his DJ performances and live "one man band" performances at events ranging from small house parties to large weddings, proms, and corporate events throughout Texas and beyond.

Dan's first DJ Camp took place in July 2016, and was an immediate, sold out hit with the young, aspiring DJs. Courses continued to sell out throughout 2016, gained media attention from The Dallas Morning News and CBS 11, and is now not only seeing more students walk through the doors than ever, but expanding to include more advanced topics in electronic music.

Instructors Kaivan "KB" Bazleh and Paul "mTort" Mandeltort were added to the team in order to support the growth of the OontzKids concept, and we're all looking forward to a very exciting summer in 2018!
