This  is a gather for aspiring and experienced writers alike, offering a space to immerse themselves in creativity, learn from industry professionals and connect with fellow writers. This is a hybrid  event with both workshop & retreat elements to it with a flexible schedule to best fit your goals

The event is open to writers of all levels and backgrounds. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned author, you'll find value in the variety of sessions and collaborative atmosphere.

What activities are included in the retreat?

Accepted Answer

The retreat includes morning workshops and afternoon breakout sessions Friday and Saturday, then a book fair Sunday. The schedule is designed to provide a balanced mix of learning, writing time and relaxation.

Where and when is Only Books in the Building taking place?

Accepted Answer

The retreat is located at the beautiful Honey Creek Resort on Rathbun Lake in Moravia, Iowa. The event takes place Thursday March 28th-Sunday March 31st.

How do I register for Only Books in the Building?

You can register for the retreat through Eventbrite. Follow the instructions provided to secure your spot.

Are accommodations included with the registration fee?

Accepted Answer

Registration for the full retreat includes a hotel room Thursday, Friday & Saturday evening, breakfast all three days and access to the event sessions each day. There are optional excursions available at an additional cost and require a separate ticket.

Can I bring a friend or family member who is not a writer?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but they will not be able to access the complimentary breakfast or retreat activities. Please note when purchasing your ticket if you'll need a double queen room and we'll try to accommodate all requests.

Is there a minimum age requirement to attend?

There is no age requirement to attend, but all minors must have a guardian on property throughout the entire workshop.

What should I bring with me?

We suggest comfortable clothing, your laptop and writing materials.
