This weekly Friday online class from 11:00-11:45 am is a gentle Qigong practice.

Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) is an ancient health and wellness practice that integrates body-postures and movement, breath and focused intent (mindfulness).

The benefits of a Qigong practice have been shown to include improved mood, quality of life and lung function, along with reduced pain, stress, anxiety, and fatigue.

Qi is life force energy. Gong is to cultivate a skill through steady practice. Qigong is the skill of cultivating life force energy. Everyone can benefit from practicing Qigong, regardless of ability, age, belief system or life circumstances. Its great appeal is that the movements are easy to learn and can be practiced anywhere at any time and does not require any special equipment or clothing. Practicing Qigong consistently can reduce stress, increase vitality and enhance the immune system. Qigong harmonizes the body, mind and soul connections.

Please get cleared by your medical doctor to perform physical activity prior to attending this class. This class will assist in modifications appropriate for all levels and stages of treatment or recovery.

This class is co-sponsored by Moving Beyond Cancer Collaborative and Capital of Texas Team Survivor. Donations welcome on sponsors websites.

About the Instructor Nancy Samano CQMI

Nancy is a Certified Medical Qi Gong Movement Instructor (CQMI). She discovered the practice of Qi Gong while undergoing treatments for Stage 3 breast cancer in 2016. Experiencing Qi Gong during her cancer journey proved so healing and transformative, that it awakened her to a new purpose. This new purpose resulted in Nancy undertaking a Medical Qi Gong program of study and dedicating herself to the practice of Qi Gong, as well as sharing this amazing ancient self healing art form with others.

As a survivor, Nancy is keenly aware of the challenges associated with cancer and is sensitive to the emotional and physical demands of that journey. Nancy credits her Qi Gong practice with providing her with a perspective that allows her to be compassionate and empathetic to the healing journey of others.
