One Million Experiments LA Screening @ UCLA
1ME expands our ideas about what keeps us safe & celebrates the work already happening to build solutions grounded in transformation.
Join us for a One Million Experiments screenings in LA at UCLA!
One Million Experiments is a film exploring how we define and create wellness & reduce harm in a world without police and prisons. Built out of a podcast and curated collection of community-based safety projects created in the midst of the 2020 uprising, One Million Experiments celebrates the work already happening to build solutions that are grounded in transformation instead of punishment. It invites you to participate in the joyous work of liberation. We don’t need one answer to how we get free – we need one million experiments.
This event is free and is all ages.
In order to keep our community safe, masking is required. Please do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms – we will be hosting many screenings in the future and would love to see you at one of those!
Borrowing language from our friends at the Socialism Conference:
“We know that, in a society in which we have each been largely left to make our own individual decisions about how to navigate this pandemic and at a time when many of us are rarely, if ever, required to wear masks, this may cause surprise or even provoke questions from some attendees. Nonetheless, Covid remains rampant, our community is traveling to Chicago from all over the world, and our priorities remain the same as they have been. We aim to make our work accessible to anyone looking to participate in movement and—to the maximum extent possible—want to ensure that no one leaves having contracted Covid or another illness and suffering the resulting health and economic consequences. Even and especially if you’re not someone who typically opts to wear a mask, we thank you for respecting our policy and helping us to enact a compassionate and collective approach to holding a large-scale gathering during an ongoing health crisis."
One Million Experiments is a project of Respair Production & Media, Interrupting Criminalization, & SoapBox Productions and Organizing.
