Following their highly informative and successful lecture in January 2023, we are delighted to welcome back Professor Sandeep Ranote, Professor Manisha Kumar and Professor Dame Sue Bailey OBE DBE, for an honorary lecture that will provide on an update on integrated care across Greater Manchester and the work of the Integrated Care Board. This unique "On the Sofa" lecture will emphasise how the workforce can adopt innovative ways of working across systems, shedding light on what this means for the relationship between health services and higher education providers.More specifically, the lecture will explore the significant potential across all programmes offered by School of Health and Society at the University of Salford to deliver cutting-edge training, fostering collaboration between education and healthcare.Acknowledging the pressures on the system, the speakers will also address how this affects students during their placements and assess the effectiveness of existing support and mitigation strategies. They will also discuss the challenge of delivering true health equity by exploring the intersectionality and complexity of healthcare. Students, with their unique positions across multiple placements, are in a prime place to see these issues firsthand and to think through innovative solutions.
