There will be talks first then we switch to hands-on lab:</p><ul><li>Intro to TFLite &amp; Mobile ML, Lawrence Moroney</li><li> Coral Edge TPU + demo, Jerry Kurata</li><li>Hands-on lab of TensorFlow Lite, Margaret Maynard-Reid</li></ul><h2>Talk: It’s not really ODML, but it’s still important!</h2><p>The phrase ‘On Device Machine Learning’ suggests that the learning happens on device. That’s not happening….yet. In this talk, Laurence, lead of AI Advocacy at Google will talk about what Google are doing in ODML, how we’re making models running on mobile more efficient than ever, and how everything works in the Google AI ecosystem for mobile, embedded, and microcontroller developers.</p><p><strong>Laurence Moroney</strong> (<a href="https://twitter.com/lmoroney" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">@lmoroney</a>) leads AI Advocacy at Google, where he is passionate about growing ML and AI among developers as the people who will lead the fourth industrial revolution! He’s the author of many books, including the recent O'Reilly book "AI and ML for Coders" as well as an upcoming book on ODML.</p><h2>Talk: TensorFlow Lite + Coral TPUs = Speed and Intelligence at the Edge</h2><p>Teaming TensorFlow Lite with Coral TPUs allows us to execute Machine Learning at amazing speed.</p><p>In this talk, Jerry will illustrate this synergy and you will see how in a few lines of code we can accelerate our models with Edge TPUs. This lets us create and deploy models powering a new wave of intelligent devices. Devices that help drive vehicles, improve voice clarity during conferencing, inspect products, reduce pollution, and much more.</p><p><strong>Jerry Kurata (</strong><a href="https://twitter.com/jerrykur" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">@jerrykur</a><strong>) </strong>is a software developer and educator. He has worked for a variety of companies including Microsoft and Novartis. He is Co-founder of Instep Technologies, a software consulting and education company.</p><h2>Codelabs: TensorFlow Lite</h2><p>In hands-on codelabs, Margaret will go over how to use TensorFlow Lite to make models and implement them on Android with ML Model Binding or the Task API.</p><p><strong>Margaret Maynard-Reid</strong> (<a href="https://twitter.com/margaretmz" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">@margaretmz)</a> is a machine learning research engineer with expertise in computer vision and on-device ML. She is an ML GDE (Google Developer Expert) and has contributed to many open-source TensorFlow projects. She is passionate about community-building, leading "GDG (Google Developer Group) Seattle" and "Seattle DAML (Data/Analytics/ML)". She has been working on AI for art and design, and is also an avid artist who creates <a href="https://margaretmz.art/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">traditional, digital and AI art</a>. </p>
