Join olive farming expert Samantha Dorsey, Lauren Cadwallader McEvoy Ranch’s Events Manager, and Fernando Aguirre, McEvoy Ranch’s Farming Supervisor, for a morning workshop which will outline some of the special considerations for pruning productive, fruit-bearing olive trees and will help you to finesse your pruning techniques.

GREENHOUSE PRUNING LECTURE + DISCUSSION
Topics will include:
• Timing
• Proper Use of Tools
• Different Techniques for Different Applications
• Young Trees vs Older Trees
• Maximizing Fruit Production
• Orchard Cultural Practices
 
ORCHARD DEMONSTRATION + PRACTICE
With the morning's discussion fresh in our minds, we'll gather in one of our olive orchards for further instruction, observation, and to practice our techniques. Please come prepared to spend time in the field – we will be on uneven surfaces and temperatures/conditions may vary. If you would like to make some cuts please bring your own pruning tools. 
Rainy conditions will move the workshop to the following weekend – please remember to dress appropriately. This year we are offering two sessions to maximize social distancing while learning. Masks are required.
 
Following the workshop, please allow time to visit our retail shop where we feature our olive oil, wines, estate products and ODE Natural Beauty line.
