Through the Early Childhood Transition Summit, we hope to accomplish the following:
1. Foster seamless transition and long-term success of children leaving infant-toddler programs, including Early Head Start and SoonerStart, and Pre-K and Kindergarten children by promoting the continuity of services among Head Start/Early Head Start, SoonerStart, Child Care, Public School Pre-K and Public School Kindergarten.
2. Focus on state-level systems building to improve Transition for children and families in early childhood programs across Oklahoma. The meeting and training are designed to:
i. Learn about exemplary practices and available resources for enhancing transition procedures.
ii. Develop strategies to enhance collaboration between local, regional, and state partners.
iii. Build capacity of local teams to enhance and improve transition services to children and families at the local level.
