OGP CEI Statement, Policy, Plan Workshop #2

The mission of the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture is to advance arts, culture, and creativity throughout LA County. The department fulfills this mission by providing services and support in areas including grants and technical assistance for nonprofit organizations; professional development opportunities; commissioning civic artworks and managing the County’s civic art collection; implementing countywide arts education initiatives and the Arts Education Collective; research and evaluation; career pathways in the creative economy; free community programs; and cross sector creative strategies that address civic issues. This work is framed by the County’s Cultural Equity and Inclusion Initiative and a longstanding commitment to fostering access to the arts.

Two-hour thirty-minute online workshop to create or refresh your organization's CEI statement, policy, or plan.

This interactive session hosted by our long-time partner The Aspire Group is designed to support organizations that are actively implementing meaningful <a href="https://www.lacountyarts.org/about/cultural-equity-inclusion-initiative/cultural-equity-inclusion-initiative" title="https://www.lacountyarts.org/about/cultural-equity-inclusion-initiative/cultural-equity-inclusion-initiative" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Cultural, Equity, and Inclusion</a><a href="https://www.lacountyarts.org/about/cultural-equity-inclusion-initiative/cultural-equity-inclusion-initiative" title="https://www.lacountyarts.org/about/cultural-equity-inclusion-initiative/cultural-equity-inclusion-initiative" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> </a>(CEI) strategies. You'll gain tools to assess your progress, receive guidance on navigating current challenges, and connect with fellow leaders committed to these goals.Workshop participants will leave with a beginning draft or refreshed statement, policy, and plan as well as strategies for communicating with their boards to allow for adoption in advance of the fall Organizational Grant Program application deadline. <h3>PRE-WORK RECOMMENDED</h3>Attendees should bring a copy of their organization’s mission statement and core values (if applicable). <h3>WHO SHOULD ATTEND?</h3>Prospective new and returning OGP applicants applying in Fall 2025 are encouraged to attend, particularly those that do not yet have formal cultural equity policies or plans (as relates to staff, board, and/or programming) in place. Current OGP grantees who would like to update their cultural equity policies or plans are also welcome. Attendees should be individual(s) who have influence and ability to engage the organization’s staff and board in this work, and/or have a current role and responsibility related to the organization’s cultural equity work.
