collaboARTive, a non-profit arts organization. Founded by visual artists Jean Blackwell Font and Ignacio Font, we provide resources and community for visual artists in Miami-Dade County. As members of the visual arts community here in Miami, we realize the power of the arts and collaboration; our goal is to support visual artists to mature and to think deeper through offering affordable studio space, artist exposure, and career development. We offer creativity and development workshops as part of a community outreach effort in a neighborhood that has been quietly developing an artists’ community for decades.Visits available by appointment, or visit collaboARTive.org for more information.

Warehouse 4726 and Maria Patino Studios offer a special workshop in preparation for Florida Day of the Dead. 
"Throughout the festival, traditional community remembrance altars or “ofrendas” spring up, covered in photographs, hand painted papier maché skeletons, sugar skulls, marigolds, trinkets, food for the dead and candles.  Community members, artists and schoolchildren all present personal memories of those whom they have lost in striking visual presentations. We will have information on how to enter your ofrenda for this year's Festival in Ft. Lauderdale.
Bring your own personal objects (photos, trinkets, flowers, etc) and we'll provide plenty of art supplies!
