Guild Row + Plant Stand Collective invites you to join a community Ofrenda making experience in preparation for Dia de Los Muertos.

Dia de Los Muertos is near! Join Guild Row + Plant Stand Collective to build a community Ofrenda to prepare for this special cultural celebration. At the event, you&#x27;ll create an altar to honor someone or something you have lost over the past year. Your contribution will be included in the community Ofrenda and presented at the Día de los Muertos celebration on Saturday, Oct 23rd. Local artist and community activist, Chava Mancera (@chava_mancera), will design and run the workshops. A long-time resident of Chicago, Chava marries art and community through education across the city. He will guide participants in the creation of their own altar or offering which will be installed as part of a larger community art installation. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring a photograph or memento(s) that represent what you are grieving.Illuminated Boxes, Frames and Jars. Calaveras, Lace, Mariposas, Cempasúchil. We want to make space for Reverence + Beauty.Where we witness the things we have lost as individuals and as a community.RSVP to secure your spot.
