ABOUT OCRAFOLK FESTIVAL

About ~ Ocrafolk Festival features musicians, storytellers, artisans, and characters of Ocracoke Island, Eastern Carolina, and beyond. This magical celebration reflects the unique nature of this remote "Pearl of the Outer Banks,"(Ocracoke Island is only accesible by ferry, and features a close-knit year-round community of 1000, and the most beautiful undeveloped 13 miles of beach that you will find anywhere on the US east coast).

Featuring 3 days chocked full of performances and events, kids activities, a squaredance, workshops, food, and artisans, the Ocrafolk Festival will make you feel right at home. Best of all, your ticket fee supports kids and community programming on the island. Your only question upon departure . . . "How soon can I return?"

How do I purchase tickets on site during the weekend?

You may purchase tickets on site at the Box Office tent at the front of the Berkley Manor.

How do I pick up my preordered tickets?

All pre-ordered tickets may be picked up on site at Box Offiice.

What are the Box Office Hours?

Box Office Hours Friday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Saturday 8 a.m – 6:00 p.m. Sunday 8 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Do I need a printout receipt of my pre-purchased ticket?

No. Although a paper or phone email screen copy can be helpful in the case of technical glitch, you may check-in by providing the name that your order is under with Eventbrite. Please be prepared to show an I.D.

Where do I need to show my ticket armband?

Folks will be permitted to visit the Artisan Village in front of the Berkley Manor as well as the Workshop Stage at the Ocracoke Preservation Society without a festival ticket. You will need a Festival Ticket Armband to gain entrance through festival gates to the Berkely, Barn, and Golden Stages.

Do I need to bring a chair?

Ocrafolk Festival provides folding chairs. If you prefer to bring your own beach chair that is permitted to the side of preset audience areas. We do not permit replacement of preset chairs with personal chairs, or the reserving of preset chairs with personal items while the attendee is absent.

Is there re-entry to the festival?

Of course! You may come and go as needed from the gated areas, just show your armband to the volunteers at the gates of the Barn, Berkley, or Golden Stages. Please do not remove your wristband as you will need it gain entry into seating areas.

How do I replace a damaged wristbands?

If you have damaged wristbands please return it to Box Office for a replacement.

Do you allow refunds for tickets?

Tickets are non-refundable once the festival has begun. That being said, we are reasonable folks. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have an issue. We are on an island . . . sometimes weather interferes with the ferry schedule.

What is included with the price of my ticket?

The ticket armband provides you with admission to gated audience areas on festival grounds.

Can I bring in food and drink?

You may bring food and drink into the festival grounds, although outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the Berkley Grounds for Ocrafolk Festival.

Can I bring my dog?

Leashed dogs are permitted in the Ocracoke community and on the Festival grounds. If your dogs are disruptive to people, performances, or other animals you may be asked to remove them from the festival. There are pet friendly motels on island and a Bed & Biscuit. Please clean up after your pets.

Smoking policy

Ocrafolk Festival is a smoke free environment. We ask that you not smoke or use e-cigs in the festival audience or near the stages.

Golf Carts, Vehicles, Shuttles and Parking

Golf carts are not permitted on festival grounds with the exception of Ocrafolk Festival Event Vehicles. The National Park Service Parking lot is right next door to the Berkley, and with easy walking distance. Ocrafolk Festival staff can arrange for a golf cart shuttle for those handicapped patrons.

Lodging for the Ocrafolk Festival weekend

The Ocrafolk Festival weekend is one of the most popular of the season. For information on hotels, B&Bs, & campgrounds visit www.visitocracokenc.com. Hatteras Island to the north also has lodging. Catch the car ferry early in the day to reduce waiting time, or consider the Hatteras passenger ferry.

What is the Ocracoke Tram?

The Ocracoke Tram is a free shuttle that circles the village. There is a shuttle stop near the passenger ferry waiting area near where the ferries come in to the harbor.

What about handicap accessibility?

Although we can't allow non-official festival golf carts or cars, we are happy to shuttle folks with disabilities from the their vehicle in the NPS parking lot to an audience area. To make arrangements, please send a member of your group to the Box Office (if possible), or email us ahead of time.
