Frequently asked questions

I'm a member of ONS, but not a member of a local chapter. How do I join a local chapter?

You can contact ONS at members@ons.org or call 866-257-4ONS and request to join your local chapter. ONS can tell you what your local chapter would be, based on where you live/work. There is a small fee to join. CICONS welcomes new members for $15 and offers many perks!

How do I join ONS (National), and what are some of the benefits of being a member?

Go to the Oncology Nursing Society website at ons.org. Then, go to the "Memberships" tab at the top of the homepage, then "Join/Renew". You may want to join a local chapter as part of this process (it's in the application). You can find info about member benefits under the "Memberships" tab.

I'm a nurse who is new to Oncology. Should I attend this course?

All are welcome to attend, however please keep in mind that this is not an introductory course. The content level is geared toward RNs who have 1-2 years of Oncology experience and are chemotherapy certified.

Will the provided meals accommodate special dietary needs?

A continental breakfast will be provided, and a deli-style lunch will be catered. If you have specific dietary concerns, you may want to consider bringing your lunch.
