Mill and shape your boards

The first hour we'll spend using a band saw to carve out the shape of your boards. You will also sand it smooth to get it ready for epoxy.

Epoxy Demo

The second half of the class I will demo how to mix epoxy and create the ocean effect. You will have practice pieces before you do your real piece!

About this event

Spend a couple of hours in my private, climate-controlled woodshop milling up lumber to make a charcuterie board, a serving tray, or a cutting board. This class moves pretty fast and you'll be surprised how much you get done in two hours.

All the tools and materials will be provided. You will learn how to choose interesting figured pieces of wood, mill them down and make them flat, cut your shape, and pour epoxy to make a "river" board or an "ocean" board.

Would you like to book a private group for a certain date and time? Contact me and we'll make it happen. Ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, gals' night out, or mother/daughter day out. I've done bachelorette parties with up to 15 people!

  • No experience is required
  • Climate controlled woodshop
  • Students get to choose their piece of wood and the design they want
  • You'll be using power tools! But no worries if you've never used them, I'll teach you all the safety stuff you need to know.
  • Pieces take about 7 days to cure. You're welcome to come back and pick it up or I can ship it for an additional cost.

What do I need to wear?

You'll be in a woodshop so no baggie sleeves, bracelets, or jewelry. Working with epoxy is very messy too.

Is there parking?

Yes, plenty of street parking in front of my house.

Anything I need to bring?

You will have to sign a waiver since you'll be using power tools. Please bring a picture ID.
