Objects & Memory: Archiving Palestine
Join two local artists - Mona Gazala and Ayat Ibrahim- to learn about the power of physical objects to keep memories of Palestine alive.
Objects & Memory: Archiving Palestine Workshop
Join local artists Mona Gazala and Ayat Ibrahim for an interactive workshop exploring how objects can preserve memory, safeguard narratives, and carry histories across generations. Through artist-led discussions and hands-on activities, we’ll examine how personal and cultural archives help protect stories, identity, and connection to place. Participants are invited to bring an object that evokes a meaningful memory or reflects their family’s history, migration, traditions, or lived experience. Together, we’ll consider how everyday items can become powerful vessels for remembrance and collective memory.
Event Schedule:
2:00 pm - Bring in a special family object and tell us about it
2:30-3:30 - Ayat will lead a collaging workshop inspired by objects shared
3:00-4:00 - have your object photographed by Mona Gazala for her upcoming exhibit
