What if the weather is bad (rain or cloudy)?

In the case of inclement weather, we'll move the party inside the museum and livestream the NASA capture of the solar eclipse.

Question 2

My kids don't get out of school until 2pm, can I still come?

Accepted Answer

The maximum moment of the eclipse will take place at approximately 3:25. Come any time between 1pm and 4:30 to experience the eclipse with us! Please keep in mind, most people will be coming to NYSCI after school - so patience with potential traffic is a must!

Does my Eclipse Watch Party ticket get me into the museum?

Accepted Answer

No. If you'd like to attend the museum on April 8th (Eclipse Day) we suggest you purchase a NYSCI Plus ticket. A NYSCI PLUS ticket for 4/8/24 gets you full museum access AND a NYSCI Eclipse Watch Party Ticket.

What will we see in NYC?

Queens (and all of New York City) will experience a partial solar eclipse. It's going to be even more exciting than the 2017 NYC eclipse experience. What ticket should I buy?

Want to go to the museum AND the watch party? NYSCI Plus Pass (purchase at nysci.org). Want to just come to the watch party? Single NYSCI Eclipse Watch Party Ticket ($10). Live in the neighborhood and plan on bringing your whole family? Buy at Family Ticket ($35 for up to 8 people-see ticket page.)

Is there parking?

NYSCI does have a parking lot that will be available. That said, we anticipate a busy day and parking availability is first come first serve. Event parking is $30 per car and is not guaranteed with any ticket purchase.
