NYJavaSIG - Typescript for Java Developers and Open ID Connect using SpringBoot

We are the New York Java Special Interest Group (NYJavaSIG), the largest Java Users Group in North America with 10K+  members.  We are well-known in the international technology community with monthly meetings.  Our Leadership group:  Jeanne Boyarsky, Barry Burd, Rodrigo Graciano,  Sai Sharan Donthi,  Chandra Guntur, Justin Lee, Neha Sardana, and Lily Luo.

As Java developers, many of us are tasked with writing both the client side as well as the server side.  Hey... its what we do...  We've had many presentations on how to design, develop and test the server software, but we sometimes forget about the client side since its typically JavaScript for a browser deployment.  But many of us need more information on writing code for the browser.
For our August monthly meeting, Java Champion and well-known author Yakov Fain will teach us how to write effective code in TypeScript, a superset of JavaScript. TypeScript allows you to be much more productive in writing JavaScript applications. A couple of years ago, not many people even heard of TypeScript. Now it's the 3rd most loved and 6th most wanted language as per <A HREF="https://stackoverflow.com/insights/survey/2017#most-loved-dreaded-and-wanted" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">StackOverflow developer's survey</A>. Typescript is pretty easy to pick up for anyone who's familiar with Java.  Yakov will cover the TypeScript essentials and will help us understand the benefits this JavaScript superset brings to the front-end development.
