90% of world trade is carried out by the international shipping industry. In the US alone, the economic impact of the shipping industry is $436.6 Billion and 13.5 Million jobs. The shipping industry is one of the most traditional, regulated industries and has set standards globally but has seen little innovation.
Join 100+ participants with multiple backgrounds: (developers, business people, designers, domain experts, lawyers) for 48 hours of building prototypes, rapid fire market validation and business model invention.
The winning team will receive a cash prize of $5,000 and direct access to key sponsor executives to explore real world applications.
We will recruit 15 world class mentors and have a jury of senior industry executives and entrepreneurs.
Tickets include all food and drink from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Bring your laptop & any other device you need to disrupt ports and logistics.
This hackathon is backed by Ports America, the Port Authority of NY/NJ, Mærsk Group, Microsoft, Quintiq, INTTRA, Cisco and the Red Sea Gateway Terminal who are all keen to disrupt this massive industry.
