About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

The Hunts Point Peninsula in the South Bronx is home to over 12,600 residents, a thriving Industrial Business Zone (IBZ), and the Hunts Point Food Distribution Center (FDC)—one of the largest wholesale distribution centers in the world. In June 2022, the City and the Hunts Point community released the Hunts Point Forward report, a shared vision borne of a yearlong process involving residents, workers, businesses, elected officials, and City agencies. The City has made progress on this vision since then, including the recent announcement of a new ‘Blue Highway’ facility at the Fulton Fish Market, which aims to move construction materials, food, and micro-freight by water, removing about 1,000 trucks from city streets each month.

Join NYC EDC and DCP for a walking tour in Hunts Point highlighting important industrial facilities, the working waterfront, and points of waterfront access for the public. The tour will include parts of the industrial business zone, waterfront parks, and the Fulton Fish Market.

Meet at the entrance of Barretto Point Park at Viele Ave and Casanova Ave.
