Come volunteer at the OCF Community Nursery.  Learn about the care stewardship of trees and shrubs that thrive locally in our valley.

What You’ll Be Doing:We will start our day with a tour of our Community Nursery. Then, volunteers will work together with OCF AmeriCorps members to perform tasks around the nursery, including but not limited to:<ul><li>Transplanting trees/shrubs</li><li>Seed processing</li><li>Weeding/mulching</li><li>Green waste collection</li></ul>Age Recommendation:This is a moderate-high intensity event for all ages. No experience necessary, just a willingness to work with others while enjoying the outside! Volunteers under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to volunteer. For elementary aged volunteers we ask that there is 1 adult for every 2 children if possible.What to Bring to Volunteer:<ul><li>Closed-toed shoes (No crocs, sandals, flats, etc.)</li><li>Proper work clothing that can get dirty (long pants are recommended, but make sure your attire is weather appropriate)</li><li>Appropriate sun or rain protection (Sunscreen, Hat, Rain jacket, etc.)</li><li>Water! Please bring plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated throughout your volunteer shift.</li><li>Recommended: Gardening-type gloves</li></ul>If you arrive at your shift without the above items, you may be turned away from volunteering due to safety reasons.Service work forms can be submitted electronically to volunteer@ourcityforest.org, or brought with you to your volunteer shift.Parking Details:Walk-In Are Welcome! If the Eventbrite sells out, no worries! Feel free to show up to the event and be prepared to fill out a waiver in-person. Please contact volunteer@ourcityforest.org for any questions and concerns. Thank you for volunteering with Our City Forest! Street parking is available on McKendrie St and Ruff Dr. Please avoid parking along Spring St, which is known to be checked, and vehicles parked there will be ticketed.
