The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) program is designed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. This 9-hr. course is conducted in a classroom and/or at a shooting facility. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules and briefings; firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and procedures to follow in the case of an emergency. Each student will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure and a Course Evaluation form.

The Range Safety Officer is usually a person that has extensive knowledge when it comes to the rules of the range they are working at, as well as in-depth experience with many types of firearms. They must be able to recognize, analyze, and deal with any malfunctions that occur. In addition, they are the “face” of their gun range and should deal with the public in a friendly, courteous, and patient manner while maintaining shooting safety and enforcing range rules.

Price for this approx. 8-9 hr. course is $125.00. For further information about the NRA’s Range Safety Officer (RSO) class, please visit our corporate web site at http://www.pbftraining.com, or call Randy Cochran at (630) 248-0660.
