This is the NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor Course. This course teaches the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude for training students on levels of awareness, carrying while traveling, consequences, and practical personal defense concepts while carrying a firearm in public. You must have completed BIT (Basic Instructor Training) within the past 2 years, be an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, and be an NRA Personal Protection in the Home Instructor to attend this course. Should you need to obtain these requirements, please message for details on how to do so in time to attend this course (Personal Protection In the Home Instructor course is on the same day as this course, running from 8am-5pm).

Required Equipment:
-Functioning pistol
-Fixed, open-mouth holster with proper trigger guard; NO SERPA-style holsters
-At least 200 rounds of appropriate factory ammunition (no reloads allowed)
-Eye and ear protection (electronic preferred)
-At least 2 functional magazines
-Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and shoes; ball cap/ sunscreen/ bug spray recommended
-Packed dinner day 1 and packed lunch and dinner day 2 (snacks and drinks provided throughout)
