  • Event lasts 6 hours

    This 6-Hour course is required within the previous 24 months of taking an NRA Certified Instructor Course. The goal of this program is to develop instructors to teach NRA Basic Firearm Training courses according to the lesson plans and training standards of the National Rifle Association. The NRA Basic Instructor Training Course is designed to teach you how to teach others using NRA lesson plans and training methods.

    NRA Basic Instructor Training is the 1st class you will take before adding an NRA Certified Instructor Credential.

    Required Materials: Bring an empty three-ring binder

    This 6-Hour class is completed in the classroom. Instructor candidates will receive the NRA Basic Instructor Manual and other instructor material.

    Age Requirements

    NRA Certified Instructors must be 21 years of age or older

    NRA Assistant Instructors must be 18 years of age or older

    NRA Apprentice Instructors are 13 - 17 years of age.

    Please remember NRA Instructor Courses are performance-based courses. Instructor Candidates must possess the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for this level of training. You are not paying to automatically pass and become an NRA Instructor. You pay to have the opportunity to pass and become an NRA Instructor.

    Classes, training and / or certification are for individuals who are not disqualified from possessing a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law.  Individuals who have been convicted of a crime of violence are disqualified.  In compliance with U.S. Federal ITAR Regulations, Student must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Resident with a Green Card.

    All High Desert Firearm Training Classes are taught by experienced NRA, USCCA, Utah BCI, and CA DOJ  Certified Firearm Instructors.  Classes are located in Apple Valley or Victorville, CA.  Range time is at 1 of 2 local ranges.  All range fees are included in the cost of your class. 

    We are located in the High Desert and serve Hesperia, Victorville, Apple Valley and the surrounding areas.  We are an easy drive from The Inland Empire, San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles and Orange Counties.  We offer many group classes, individual training, and instructor classes.  If there is a class you would like to take that is not scheduled, please call, text or email us and we will set it up for you.  (951) 544-9190 HighDesertFirearmTraining@gmail.com
