Not-So-Annual "This Too Shall Pass" Party: April Fools' Edition
Sat, April 1, 2017, 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM EDT
Come on down to the Riverview Patio at Global Headquarters to help us celebrate the most foolish holiday we know!
Paddle, hike, bike, ride, or drive down to the gateway of the Best Little Town in North Carolina. Celebrate the spring season along the NC Mountains-To-Sea Trail and the Yadkin River.
We'll be celebrating food, friendship, and whatever else with impromptu conversations about Life, The Universe, and Everything. This is a family friendly, rain or shine event!
We're setting the time for the party to be 4pm - 9pm, floating.
We've got a fabulous lineup of local musicians performing throughout the event:
- Sam Tayloe
- Luke Mears
- Robert Holthouser
Also - If you're musically inclined, bring your instruments to jam by the river!
You're welcome to show up and start using the Crater Park facilities anytime throughout the day, and several folks should be holding paddle trips, group bike rides, and group hikes leading up to our afternoon start time.
Come as you are, leave even better. :)
Please bring your own chairs, and feel free to bring board games, or any yard games that you would like. Global Headquarters is surrounded by Crater Park, so there's plenty of room for kids of all ages to run around, play ball games, etc.
When the sun goes down and the air gets chilly, we'll have a nice roaring fire in the fire pit. Maybe after the music dies down, we'll have some dramatic readings of funny stories, or just sit around and tell some great jokes!
Hikers, cyclists, and paddlers - y'all can actually tent camp overnight in Crater Park if you'd like. No need to be in a hurry, now. If you've got a camper van and need to park it overnight close by, we've got a spot for you across the street. Plenty of space, just let us know you're coming with a camper!
Food and Beverages
Local Elkin Chef Jeff (of 21 & Main and 222 Public House Fame) is parking his food truck nearby to allow folks to purchase the excellent mobile cuisine he plans to serve up!
Several varieties of local homebrew (bottled and kegged) will be on hand, as will non-alcholic options. If you're a homebrewer and would like to bring some batches to sample and share, please let Ben know.
**NOTE: Bring your own bowls, cups, and utensils, as we're striving to make this a landfill free event. Hopefully we'll scrounge up a bunch ourselves, and feel free to bring extras. We'll make sure they get washed after the party.
The event is free, we're just asking folks to select tickets as an RSVP so we can get a better sense of how many folks will show up (so we can know how many porta-potties we'll need to make us HB2 compliant, hey hey!!)
We will accept donations to help offset costs, such as portable toilets we'll be providing at the event.
This is the first of many This Too Shall Pass gatherings to happen at Global Headquarters this year - and hopefully for many years to come!

FusterCluck is the realization that we cannot control the system, we can merely disturb it. It’s about embracing the chaos. It’s about peace, love, and chaos. That was the inspiration for our logo. To find peace, we must love, and love is chaos. Beautiful chaos.
Welcome, everyone. Welcome to the FusterCluck! You’ve been here all your life.
