Sports injuries tend to be serious because of the amount of force and energy exerted at the time of impact. Because athletes are used to feeling aches, pains and other discomforts, they often let their injuries go untreated for longer than they should. That's when long-term and chronic injuries develop, and that's why it’s important to seek treatment from a sports medicine expert as soon as something feels off.
