Northfield CoderDojo goes virtual! 04/04/20
Event Information
Description
Northfield CoderDojo - now online!
What is CoderDojo?
A CoderDojo is a local chapter of an international organization of tech meetup groups; they bring together people ages 6 to 17 who want to learn about technology and mentors who volunteer to work with them!
It's more exploration than class - we'll show you some basics and can point you toward tutorials, but the main event is young coders taking the wheel and discovering for themselves. Mentors are there to encourage, offer suggestions and challenges, and bounce ideas around with you.
How are you going virtual?
Anyone who registers will be sent a link to a meeting via Cisco Webex (unlike Zoom, the free version no longer has a time limit!). Depending on who joins us and what the group's interests/tech access looks like, we could end up in "breakout rooms" of codealongs for various projects, or all stick together and help each other solve problems via screensharing, or whatever seems to make sense. This is something new - we're all going to learn together!
Age requirements
CoderDojo welcomes coders between the ages of 8 and 17, and junior coders (ages 6 and 7) who work in tandem with a parent or guardian.
