About this event

All registration and payment must be completed on Eventbrite. EVERYONE on board your vessel over the age of 12 must have a valid registration. Children under 12 only need to register if they intend to fish. If they are spectators only they do not need to register.


Any legally caught Flounder (Excluding Halibut) will qualify for weigh-in.

1st - $3000

2nd - $1000

3rd - $750

4th - $500

5th - $250


Fishing

All fishing must be done from a watercraft- boats, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, float tubes etc are all legal. No fishing from shore.

Anglers may launch from anywhere but must fish in Marine Area 6 and must travel by water to the weigh station.

Fishing begins at 5:14AM (Dawn) and is enforced by the honor system.

Anglers are discouraged from making land before weigh in. This will help reduce claims of foul play and cheating.


Body of Water

Participants must fish in Marine Area 6 for the event. Fishing must be legal and in public waters only. Participants may fish in any water within MA6 that is open to public fishing.


Weigh-In

Weigh station will open at noon.

Each angler will be allowed to weigh 1 fish.

Weigh-in will be held at the commercial loading dock in the Port Angeles Boat Haven. SEE MAP BELOW.

All fish must be brought by watercraft to the weigh station and presented by the angler who landed the fish along with their ID and proof of registration.

Fish will be Inspected, weighed and documented before being returned to the angler. All fish will be inspected for tampering and foreign objects- don’t be THAT guy!

Weigh station closes at 3:00PM. All vessels must be in the immediate area in queue and within the Marina by 3:00PM. This judgement call will be up to the discretion of the weighmaster and the tournament director. Don’t make us make that call, get in early!


Awards Ceremony

The Award Ceremony will be held on the main stage for the Maritime Festival in the boat haven parking lot at 4:30PM. Winners will be announced and given their prizes. SEE MAP BELOW.


Tournament Director

Your Tournament Director is Andre Corpus. Contact info will follow after registration.

The interpretation and enforcement of the rules is at the sole discretion of the director. The tournament director may change rules or impose sanctions as they deem appropriate, including but not limited to: disqualifications, forfeiture of prizes, and prohibition from competing in future tournaments. All decisions made by the tournament director are final.


Sportsmanship

All participants are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation. Any participant who displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules or brings unfavorable publicity to the sport of fishing could be disqualified. Encroachment is considered a sportsmanship rule.


Inclement Weather/Cancelation

Keep your phones on throughout the tournament in order to receive communication from the director in the event of postponement or cancelation. Due to the nature of tournament fishing, no refunds will be issued. This is at the discretion of your tournament director.


Tiebreakers

In the event of a tie the fish that was weighed first will recieve precidence.


Claiming Prizes

Prizes will be paid out in CASH at the awards ceremony. To receive your prize you must have your proof of registration and your photo ID.


Laws and Regulations

All federal, state, and local laws and all fishing and boating rules must be abided by.

Failure to comply with any tournament rules subjects participants to disqualification and removal from the competition, as determined by the tournament officials. The right to refuse sale and/or revoke a competition ticket to anyone is hereby reserved.


Cheating

  • All protests must be brought to the director’s attention before the end of the event.
  • Anyone caught breaking the law or disobeying the rules will be disqualified.
  • Fish must be hooked and caught live in a conventional manner. Fish cannot be snagged, netted, speared, etc.


Safety

Participants are responsible for their own safety, actions, and property at all times.
