North Central Region Convocation

Connecticut Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (Connecticut VOAD)is a humanitarian association of independent voluntary organizations who may be active in all phases of disaster.  Its mission is to foster efficient, streamlined service delivery to people affected by disaster, while eliminating unnecessary duplication of effort, through cooperation in the four phases of disaster: preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation.

Event Description
 Join us as we come together to explore what God is doing in our midst and to discover how we can join with God and each other in co-creating our future.
This gathering of members from the worshipping communities in the North Central Region of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut is an opportunity for us to meet, share, and strengthen each other in our diverse ministries. The process of coming together and creating a new future will take place during events that will be held over two days at two different locations.. 
 FRIDAY JUNE 10 (Trinity Episcopal Church, Tariffville, CT)
6 - 9 p.m.: There will be music, hors d'oeuvres and conversation. This will be an opportunity to meet our neighbors, and discover our common ground for mission. Bishops Ian and Laura, and Canon for Mission Collaboration, Tim Hodapp will join us.to clarify our agenda and purpose for the continuing event on Saturday. Final agenda will include making sandwiches for Saturday. 
SATURDAY JUNE 11 (Christ Church Cathedral, Hartford, CT)
8:00 am. Arrive at Christ Church Cathedral to make sandwiches for convocation participants as well as those attending the Church on the Pond and lunch. (voluntary) 
9:30am to 1:30 pm - During the morning, the business part of the day, our time together will focus upon commissioning the Mission Council representatives, identifying representatives to select and hire a Missionary for the region. We will identify our convocation planners for 2017 and will acknowledge and celebrate each other, as together, we begin this new day in the life of ECCT.
1:30- 3:00pm -  Procession to Bushnell Park to join the Church by the Pond community for lunch and worship. That day we will also celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of the Church on the Pond in Hartford.
 
When ordering tickets be sure to order one for each day you plan to attend.
Parking is free at both sites. Please park at Hartford Stage in Hartford and bring your ticket with you for validation at registration.
