Join 52 Hike Challenge NC & SC Chapter on a beautiful 2.6 mile waterfall hike. A bridge over the creek in front of the falls offers great views. There are even better views on the other side of the creek, and you can walk up to the base of the falls.
Picnic Area: About 3/4 of a mile south of the waterfall parking area is the Crabtree Falls picnic area with many tables and grills, along with nice mountain views. From the campground / waterfall parking area, turn right / south on the Parkway to reach a separate parking area.
When: Sunday, May 26th at 10:00 am. We will meet in the parking lot. I will have a 52 Hike Challenge Shirt on.
Skill Level: Intermediate
There are plently of overlooks to stop at on the way to and from this hike on the BRP. I also recommend checking out the town of Little Switzerland.
Be sure to wear adequate clothing, sunscreen, and plenty of water, snacks and electrolytes. As always pack your 10 essentials for safety reasons!
