Come hang out with your THEYFRIENDs!
About the Event
Come find your people at Nonbinary & Chill, a laid-back evening of music, performances, food, drinks, and nonbinary community on the patio at El Rio.
Unlike some of the bigger performance events at THEYFRIEND, this one is all about hanging out. Grab a drink, get some food, meet someone new, catch up with an old friend, and settle in for an evening surrounded by nonbinary community.
Sister Tilda NexTime hosts the evening, keeping the vibes flowing and helping break the ice, with a DJ phishr_price spinning throughout the night and pop-up performances from opera singer Nina Jones and singer-guitarist Charli Ra.
Nonbinary & Chill centers nonbinary and gender-expansive people, and everyone is welcome. More than anything, this is a space to relax, connect, and feel at home among community.
And at 9 PM, we're not going anywhere! Stick around as Karaokiki: They/Them Energy takes over El Rio for nonbinary karaoke until 1 AM. Let the vibes continue.
About the Artists
Sister Tilda NexTime (they/them) Tilda has been a fully professed Sister for ten vibrant years. Their personal ministry is rooted in the transformative power of art and self-expression. Using their face as a canvas and makeup as their medium, they become a living piece of art to inspire others. Through bold creativity and unapologetic fabulousness, they empower people to see themselves as masterpieces—unique, radiant, and worthy of love and celebration.
Charli Ra (they/them) is a non-binary singer, songwriter, producer, and bass guitarist based in Richmond, Virginia. Drawing from indie rock, electronic, soul/R&B, and dance influences, Charli Ra creates a diverse, immersive world of music all held together by one distinct vision. In their writing, they take inspiration from their education in psychology and religion, and their fascination with the bridge connecting science and spirituality. Introspective, adventurous, and sometimes surprising, they explore what it means to be a human being in a world which defies explanation.
Nina Jones (they/them) is a San Francisco–based mezzo-soprano from Bolton, Massachusetts. They have performed extensively across the U.S. and Canada in opera, recitals, musicals, plays, and choral works. Jones’s Bay Area engagements include San Francisco Opera, Festival Opera, Ars Minerva, Pocket Opera, San Francisco Opera Guild, and Opera Parallèle. Critics have praised their “clean and clear” sound (Opera Tattler) and described their acting as “captivating” (SFCV), with “electric energy and devilish spunk” (Theatre Eddys). They hold a Master of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music from McGill University.
DJ phishr_price (they/she) is a transfemme non-binary Asian American iPad dj who loves to take requests but they might not give it to you the way you asked for it. She has little respect for genre and loves to switch it up throughout her sets. She plays alternative, post-punk, bedroom pop, drum & bass, and techno, but lives for unhinged mashups and making dance mixes on the fly.
