Featuring Emerging Artists, Funky 80's Group!

With diverse musical backgrounds, but a common bond of the music they grew up on, Funky 80's Group formed with a vision to spread their love of funk and soul.

They have carved a niche for themselves at prominent venues across Southern California, including House of Blues, The Mint, Saint Rocke, OC Tavern, Gaslamp, and Sea Legs. The group is an annual fixture on the Hangar stage at the Orange County Fair as well as the San Diego and Las Vegas Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series. They have performed for many corporate and private events such as major league sporting events and TV shows.

The group is adored by crowds across the region with their fresh take on a sound previously lacking in the local music scene. Their shows are a mixture of a contagious party atmosphere fueled by dancing and audience participation, with call-and-response shout choruses and lively percussion play-alongs. Their music is a blend of funk rhythms, groove breakdowns, soulful vocals and catchy horn lines. With a mixture of covers and original instrumental and vocal tunes, the group channels the spirit of 60s, 70s and 80s era soul, straight-up funk, and a dash of jazz and rock which captivates a wide range of listeners that are eager to get down.

Milford Street Records – The band’s own label, was formed shortly after the band's inception. Their debut EP “For The Record" highlights the group’s first single “Climbing”, and was followed up with a full length album, "enjoy!". The band is finishing up studio work on their third album “Diggins and Pickins” which is expected later this year.

Individually, they are an eclectic group of musicians. But once mixed, simmered, and stewed together, they create the savory and tasty concoction known as Funky 80's Group.
