Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Noaa Rienecker grew up throwing backyard shows and playing in bands in the DIY/punk scene. He then studied jazz at the Berklee College of Music before dropping out to wander around Europe and the US busking and hitchhiking. Eventually he landed in Texas, where he fell quite accidentally into the world of country, bluegrass and Americana.
With a dark, wry lyrical sensibility, he writes strikingly honest, catchy, and thoughtful songs. Driving his sound with crisp acoustic guitar picking and the occasional outburst of overdrive, he delivers a truly unconventional take on the rock and Americana traditions.
As a sideman, Noaa has worked with artists such as country singer/songwriter Margo Cilker, grammy-nominated bassist Michael Manring, Austin psych queen Betty Benedeadly, and Minnesota songwriters Feeding Leroy. He has released three singles off his upcoming record, In The Language Of Dreams, which is set for release on June 21st, 2024.
