About this event

44.

Every day 44 Veterans take their own life.

It’s scary to talk about and even more frightening for our Veterans who are struggling with PTSD, mental health issues and other challenges they feel they have no way out of.

“No One Walks Alone” is designed to make sure each and every Veteran in the Ohio Valley knows they are not alone. Their fellow veterans are there for them. There are resources available. We are there for them. There is hope.

Once again, as part of Nexstar Broadcasting's Founder's Day of Caring, WTRF-TV is organizing the "No One Walks Alone" walk on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Founder’s Day of Caring is a day when each Nexstar station across the country continues to devote time to the community for one focused event.

WTRF will be devoting time and resources to Helping Heroes. A non-profit near and dear to the station, and who still needs our help transforming their new building into an office space and resource center for Homeless Veterans and their families.

During “No One Walks Alone” we will honor those 44 lives lost each day by walking for 44 minutes.

For all Veterans in attendance there will be a resource fair filled with organizations they can join for a sense of togetherness or services they may need to help.

Events like these are not possible without the generosity of the community and we hope that is on full display on June 15th through monetary donations, the number of booths present and group attendance at the event.

Please join us in raising funds for Helping Heroes and showing the Ohio Valley’s heroes that even though they may face challenges, we are grateful for their service, and they are not alone.
