<DIV CLASS="gmail_default"><STRONG><EM>No-No Boy</EM></STRONG><SPAN> creates an immersive experience which shines a light on diverse but interconnected histories</SPAN><SPAN>: </SPAN><SPAN>WWII Japanese Incarceration</SPAN><SPAN>, </SPAN><SPAN>southeast Asian refugees</SPAN><SPAN>, and kids in middle-America making sense of hyphenated identities. </SPAN></DIV>

<DIV CLASS="gmail_default"><SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>Inspired by his doctoral research at Brown University, as well as his experiences growing up as the son of a Vietnamese refugee in Tennessee, </SPAN></SPAN></SPAN>​singer/songwriter <STRONG>Julian ​</STRONG><SPAN><SPAN><STRONG>Saporiti</STRONG>’s original songs </SPAN></SPAN>are performed against a backdrop of projections displaying archival photographs and films. Saporiti is​ joined on stage by singer Erin Aoyama, a fellow Brown PhD student whose grandmother was incarcerated in a Japanese-American concentration camp. </DIV>

<DIV CLASS="gmail_default">In collaboration with Chicago's <STRONG>Ho Etsu Taiko</STRONG>, Julian and Erin will also perform a brand new live score of <STRONG>Full Spectrum Features</STRONG>' narrative short, <STRONG>The Orange Story</STRONG>. The event is FREE. RSVP through Eventbrite of Facebook is required. </DIV>
