Event description
An information session to learn about what NMSBA can do and does for NM small businesses.

About this event

The New Mexico Small Business Assistance (NMSBA) Program provides New Mexico small businesses facing technical challenges access to the unique expertise and capabilities of Los Alamos and Sandia national laboratories. At no cost to the business, small businesses can seek assistance from lab scientists and engineers to solve challenges and overcome barriers to company success.

Since 2000, the NMSBA program has provided a total of $71.7 million in technical assistance to 3,135 businesses, enabling 9,710 jobs created and retained across the 33 counties in New Mexico.

Small, for-profit businesses can participate in the NMSBA program through three different types of projects:

Individual Projects, leveraged projects, or contract projects. Funding up to $40,000 will be applied directly to an individual project, and up to $120,000 for leveraged projects.

Benefits to small businesses located in New Mexico who have participated in the NMSBA program have achieved positive results such as developing a new product or technology, improved overall operations, expansion or improved a product or service, improved expertise or capabilities of employees, and have become more competitive in the marketplace.
