The Sandy Hook HOW event is being held on the Coast Guard Station at the end of the park. The Coast Guard Auxiliary is hosting us for the day. When you enter the park from Rt 36 and stop at the park entrance, tell the park employee you are going to the Coast Guard Station for the HOW event. The employee will allow you through, there is NO FEE to use the Coast Guard Station. Continue to the very end of the park, stay to the left at Fort Hancock split, keeping Officers Row on your right. After passing Officers Row and the Sea Streak dock make a left at the next intersection. The gated entry to the Station will be manned by an CG Auxiliary member to allow all participants entry. Once on the property gear and kayaks can be dropped at the sandy beach launch area, cars must be parked in the adjacent lot. The offloading must be done in a timely manner and we cannot create a gridlock situation, the roadway is an emergency area and must remain clear.

Weather Considerations: Events are rain or shine, dress appropriately for the weather. You will be notified if the event is cancelled for any reason.

You may get wet during the outing. Its always a good idea to pack extra dry clothes for the way home.
