Nite Train – Celebrates 21 years of Live Performances in 2024!

"Nite Train" celebrates 21 years of Rockin’ Capital-land with their Rockin’ Funk and Blues shows in 2024!!!

2003 was the VERY first Year of "Nite Train's" inception, and the band participated in some VERY significant performances including performing with Hubert Sumlin (guitarist w/ Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters) and Little Sammy Davis (blues-harp player w/ Pinetop Perkins, Ike Turner, Albert King, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed & Little Walter) at Andy Follette’s 40th b-day bash, and opening for John Primer & the Real Deal Blues Band at the “Blues 2000 & 3” Blues Festival at the Nevele Grande Hotel in the Catskills.

The band also performed at the Egg in Albany NY that year as the entertainment for “Techapalooza 2003”!

The band added Thomasina Winslow in 2018 and she delighted crowds with her fantastic rockin’ blues originals and some tasty rock, blues and funk cover songs she brought to the table. Thomasina performed at nearly every Nite Train gig until her untimely death from a stroke in January of 2023. The band has continued to perform her songs in her honor with Marla Briggs singing Thomasina’s favorite originals and cover songs at performances ever since. Thomasina is undoubtably smiling down on the band as they received “Blues Artist of the year” at the April 30th, 2023 Eddie awards ceremony. Nite Train is elated to perform alongside Thomasina Winslow’s brothers Gary and Carlton Winslow at a few special events in 2024. The band is presently working on their third album in early 2024 and can’t wait to add those new original songs to the set list very soon!
